Balloon Fiesta, takes place every year in October in Albuquerque NM. It was so cool! Hundreds of balloons will take off and travel away. There were many shapes and different colors of balloons. My girls were so happy!!!

My Claire Bear is going to school. She is so happy and she loves her teacher and her little friends. She goes to school twice a week and she is doing great. She didn't even cry on her first day. What a cutie.

Leah first day of Kindergarten. I just can't believe how big you are. I have a Kindergarten child now... wow! Time goes by fast. She is doing great and she has made lots of friends. She is a little social butterfly! She is in school all day and when she comes home she is pretty tired, but somehow she is managing it.

Look at the size of her backpack it looks like she is ready for a trip, not school. She wanted a backpack with wheels, so that is what she got.

We finally got to go boating. Brad had so much fun water skiing, and the girls also loved the tube. Leah didn't want to go at first, but later she gave in and loved. We went with our friends the Hofhiens and the Fowers and that made all much more fun!

"Once upon a dream" was Leah's 5th birthday party theme. She looked so beautiful as Cinderella. I think her dream did come true and she became a princess for a day. Happy birthday my sweet girl!

Lots of decorations to make her day even more special. We hired Cami our sitter to be Cinderella. Leah just loved that!

Claire thought this was her birthday too. She wanted to blow those candles. Leah was a good sport and let her little sister participate too.

Disneyland ( summer vacation)

We made it to Disneyland!!! My girls most favorite place on earth.

We had a great time and the day was perfect. That is one of the advantages of Disneyland versus Disney World, the weather is a lot better. However is a little smaller then Disney World, but my girls don't know it yet.
It was great to see their little faces light up when they saw the Sleeping Beauty's castle. Claire kept screaming princess, princess castle.

Even papai got to see Mickey mouse ready to play baseball.

After standing in line for over a hour we got to finally meet the princesses, or at least some of them. Leah really wanted to see Cinderella, her favorite but we didn't get very lucky there Cinderella just step out right when it was our turn. bummer.

What a fun day. the next day Leah and Claire sad can we go back to Disneyland we loved there. So all the waiting in line was worth it if it made my girls happy. I also have to admit that I liked being there too, I think Brad did it too everyone turns to a kid in Disneyland.

Time to head to Temple Square. It was freezing that day, this is why we were all bundled up. Remember this was the first week of April and it seemed to snow every day we were there.

General Conference Day. It was a wonderful and uplifting experience. I loved seeing the Prophet and listening to all the talks. The chorus was amazing and I was so grateful that I was able to be there with my husband, brother, and sister-in-law. My uncle came with us too and he is a really fun person to hang out with. Thanks tio for everything.

In the middle of March my younger brother Israelson and his wife Kristy came to visit us from Brazil. They left their kids with my mom and their other grandma so they could travel around a little bit. I was so excited to have them here, especially because it was the first time they came here to visit me. We had such a fun time with them... Leah and Claire loved their tia and tio, especially because they got extra attention from them.

While they were here I got to show them around Dallas. I took them to the Dallas Aquarium which I think is pretty cool and they liked it a lot.

My baby girl is getting big. She is no longer a baby, she is officially a toddler now. She turned 2 a the end of February. She is super cute but has a mind of her own. She loves to provoke her older sister and she likes things her way. What am I going to to with this little stinker!
Claire's favorite things at the moment are playing dress up with her sister, watching movies (the princess kind), eating cookies, cake, candy or anything else that starts with the letter C. Her favorite song is "Jesus wants me to be a Sunbeam", and the popcorn song. She loves going to nursery and playing with her little friends. She is a daddy's or papai's girl. She just loves to be with her papai. She is talking a lot more but still needs translation for some of her words. She is very independent and I love her little personality. She does makes me laugh a lot with her cute ways of doing things. Love you my Claire Bear.

So for her birthday I decided it would be fun to take her to the Rain Forest Cafe. I know she loves animals and that would be a good way to celebrate her birthday. Here she is all happy looking at the fish in the aquarium with her papai.

Here she is not happy at all, this is when we are inside the restaurant, she got so scared and she kept saying "go home". Poor thing, she hated the whole thing. It was dark in the restaurant and she got frightened by the gorillas that were right by our table. The lighting was the last straw for her. She didn't eat anything and we had to take our food to go. Sorry Claire, happy birthday!

Big Snow Day in Texas!

So on February 11th of this year 2010, we got a huge snow storm here in the Dallas area. At least it was huge for this area. We got about 4 to 5 inches of snow and it was a blast. The schools closed and kids were all over the place making snow man and snow angels. My girls loved, except after a few minutes they gave up playing in the snow and decided it was a lot more fun to play inside.

It hadn't snow like this here since the late 1970's.

White Christmas /2009

Christmas of 2009 was definitely one of the most memorable Christmas I ever had. Many of you already heard our family trip to Albuquerque on Dec 24th. What a day! I will briefly describe so I wont take so much time.
So we get ready to drive to my in-laws to spend Christmas. We leave on the 24th a little beat later in the day thinking that we should be save from the storm that was coming. I thought to myself how bad snow storms can be in Texas,apparently they can be bad or at least this one was. We were about 1 1/2 hours from Dallas when we couldn't move anymore and the whole highway was shut down. We thought great we are going to be late for Christmas Eve. Little did we know that we wouldn't make there until late evening of the 25th. Anyway we had to stay in the car for hours in the middle of a huge blizzard. Eventually our car battery died around 8:00P.M. and we didn't have any heat. We were freezing. We decided to leave the car and walk about a mile back to a gas station and spend the night there. Luckily a police officer was going around trying to take people to shelters. He took us in his jeep (in a very wild ride) back to a church that was getting people that were stuck in the highway as well. We spend the night there with many strangers, but I was so glad to no have to be in the freezing cold. The members of the that church were really kind. They woke up early on Christmas day and came to make breakfast for us and hundred's of other people. I was really touched by their love. From there we were able to get our car back and fix it and drive to Albuquerque. Once we got there (exhausted) we were so grateful to see everyone. I know they all prayed for us and I'm grateful for that little Christmas miracle.

We had a marvelous time for the rest of the week we were there. We went to birthday parties, meet the newest member of the family, Maddie and the kids play together for hours and hours. Christmas is a time to be together as families and most important of all to remember our Savior and celebrate His birth. This is what is important everything else is just a plus. At the end we can't complain about the snow it made us have a very white Christmas.

Catching up/ Halloween 2009

So I haven't updated my blogg for over 7 months. How sad, I'm really bad at keeping this up. My family is asking for pictures of my kids so I will do many entries trying to catch up the last couple of months.

Let start with Halloween of last year. Leah and Claire were so excited about Halloween. Leah decided that she wanted to be Tinkerbell, not a surprise at all since she loves those kind of movies. Claire was Snow Shite and a Dalmatian puppy. During the fall we had fun going to our favorite pumpkin patch and decorating our house for Halloween. Leah had a party in her school, where she sang songs and was able to do some crafts. Claire had her play group party, with her little friends. They were all so cute! We also had a church party and them of course the big night of Halloween. Brad was the one that took Leah out trick or treating. Claire wasn't feeling so well that day. It was a busy time with all the parties and activities, but this is what fall is about at the Hunter's home.

Cancun, Mexico

So our last adventure was in Cancun Mexico. We decide to take a short trip there and enjoy the sun and the beach for a few days. October is off season so we got at good deal, plus there was no one there. I fell in love with Cancun, the water is a deed turquoise blue and the sand is so fine. We loved just hanging out at the hotel pool and the beach, but my favorite part was going to see the Mexican ruins in Chichen Itza. We took a tour bus there. The trip was over 3 hours, but luckily my girls were pretty good for the most part. It always amazes me to see something so old that was a piece of history. People lived there hundreds of years ago and their life styles were very different from ours. Today there are many villages around the peninsula the Yucatan with direct descends of the Mayans. They still speak their original dialect but they also know Spanish. It was interesting to see how they live today and I also got to learn a few words in their language (Mayans), which I don't remember anymore. We also went to the "Isla de las mujeres", "island of the women". I don't know exactly why was call that but it was nice there. We took had to that a ferry to get there and we went to this special aquarium that rescues sea turtles that are endangered. Anyway Leah really loved plying with the baby turtles, it was awesome!

First day of school

So today is a sick day, not just for me but for the whole family. I decided that it is probably a good time to catch up with my blog. Now the whole order of my blog is not perfect, but at least you guys can take a glance of our last few months.

The first pictures are of the girls and my mother-in-law and my two sisters in-laws, Heidi and Caitlin. Brain my brother-in-law is also in one of the pictures. It was fun to have them here for a few days. The girls certainly loved all the attention.

The last picture is Leah in her first day of school. She is growing so fast! She loves her pre-school and her new teacher. She kept asking me when was she going back to school for about a month before school started. I hope she will say this when she is 12 and have to go to middle school.

San Antonio

Here we are at the river walk and the Alamo. It was a hot sticky day! While we were at San Antonio, my cousins, my aunt and I got to go to the San Antonio Temple. What a pretty temple! I'm so glad I was able to do that with my cousins and aunt that I love so much.

Sea World

While my family were here we decided that it would be fun to drive down to San Antonio and go to Sea World. The kids were all so excited and we had a really fun time. The Shammu show was excellent and the water rides were fun to cool off. That day was Leah's real birthday so what better way to spend your birthday then in Sea World? What a lucky girl. Plus her cousins, Kyle Kayla, Kyler and Grace were there with her too. Happy Birthday my sweet Leah, Love you!

Oregon Trip

Our Tip to Oregon was awesome! We visited one of Brad's best friend Aaron. Him and his family lives 45 minutes of Portland Oregon. They own a few acres of land, and they have cows, chickens, cats, dogs, etc. The view of their house is amazing, when you step outside in their huge backyard what you see is " Mount Hood" right in front of you. It is just gorgeous! The weather was perfect while we were there. We were able to flee the 100 degrees heat of Texas for a few days. Leah and Claire were in heaven, they had so much space to run around and play. Everyday they woke up and went straight outside to play with the cats and dogs. One of their cats had kitten just the day before we got there, so you can imagine how happy my girls were when they got to see those little kittens. I was afraid that Claire was going to squeeze one of the poor kittens, but luckily they survived. Leah also got to feed the chickens and cows with Sid (our friend). We also visited Portland one day and had great sandwiches. Our friends have 3 boys that were a few years older them my girls and a teenage girl. They were all so sweet and I'm glad we got to see them and spend some time with them.

Summer Trips ( New York)

During the summer we were able to go New York with Brad, while he was working there. We had a fun time! We went to the big Natural History Museum, to every major toy store, the Central park zoo and Leah and I got to see a Broadway show, which it was my favorite part of the trip. I loved being in such a big city, there is so much to do in New York, but after a few days there with two kids and no car I wondered how do people live and raise kids in New York. I pushed the stroller everywhere in a 85 degree heat that felt more like 90 since the humidity was high and was absolutely exhausted by the end of the day. The streets are packed with people so it was hard to maneuver a double stroller in the middle of everyone. It rained a lot while we were there, just big thunderstorms that only last about 20 minutes but it was enough to create major chaos in a city packed with tourists and cars. Anyway like I said before the best part of the trip besides being able to see my husband everyday was to go to the "Little Mermaid Broadway Show" with Leah. She was so excited and she acted like a little adult at the play. The show was great and I would recommend to anyone even adults. The little mermaid is one of Leah's favorite Disney characters and she sang along with her. How cute! I wish I could have taken pictures of the show. Claire is not the greatest traveler but she did well while I pushed her in the stroller. She slept most of the time while we were out, now the moment I went inside a store that had clothes for me she would immediately wake up and scream, get me out of here or at least she meant that.

Leah's 4th Birthday part 2!

We were so lucky that my family from Chicago came and visit us right around Leah's birthday. My aunt Edite, my cousins Karem, Cibelen and their kids, Kyle, Kayla Kyler and Grace were here in Texas for two weeks. We had a great time with them and they helped a lot with the party. Thank you guys!

Leah's 4th Birthday!

Leah is finally 4 years old. She thinks she has been 4 for the last 3 months, but now her day has arrived. We had a birthday celebration for her and it was very cute. She wanted a Hello Kitty party and I wanted a hula party, so we compromised and ended up with Hello Kitty in Hawaii. She had a grass skirt on and a lay necklace . We also handed out lays necklaces to everyone. We had many games like the limbo game, hula hups and the pinata. We had a few projects but the big hit was the sand art project, that was to fill in some jars with colored sand. We enjoy some fruit with fruit punch and chicken and rice, it was yummy!

My uncle and brothers had nicknames which will make sense only to us. Anyways here are they names Elderson mostly know as flip-flaps, Elias was big knee and Israelson was white bear. We had such a great time we even found some native Indians that lives around there. They tried to sell us some shakers, it was pretty cool.

While we were in Brazil we were able to go to my cousin Rafael's wedding. His bride looked so sweet and they were so happy and in love. Here is a picture of me and my two cousins Lindsay and Patricia, we grow up together.

This is my grandma Ema she is my dad's mom. She is 97 years old and going strong. The only thing she does not remember a lot anymore. Didn't recognized me but was still nice to see her.

We celebrated her birthday in Brazil with my family. It was more like a family reunion them a birthday but the kids had fun. Claire loved running around and looking at all the balloons and decorations.

Dallas Arboretum

What a beautiful day we had at the Dallas Arboretum a week ago. My in-laws were in town with my sister in-law Jenny and we decided to go to the Dallas Arboretum. Jenny who is a professional photographer took some wonderful pictures of the girls. It was hard to have a good picture of both of them since one is always looking down, away, or just not sitting still. I'm really grateful to her for her patience.

Did I mention that Jenny (my sister in law) is going to serve a mission in Brazil? I'm so excited for her plus she will learn Portuguese and we can chat when she gets back . She is going to the Campinas mission, really close to Sao Paulo. I hope we can see her when we come and visit my family in Brazil next year.

Leah has been taking ballet classes for the past couple of months. She is so tinny compared to the other girls. She loves to spin around and she fells so cool in her ballerina outfit.

She is definitely the dancer of the family. She loves any kind of music and she loves to sing along too.

As you can see Leah is like a giant next to the other girls, ha, ha!

This is my big girl going to preschool for the first time. I was more nervous then she was. She had a great time and said that she wants to go to school everyday. She only goes to school two days a week and I'm loving having a little time with Claire only. I think Leah looked so cute with her big back-pack, so grown up.

Brian and Caitlin's Wedding!

This is Brian ( Brad's younger brother) with his blushing bride Caitlin. A sweet girl that is just perfect for him. They got married on August 16th and they were sealed at the Albuquerque temple for time and all eternity.

We were excited to be there, and enjoy such a nice day with the family. As you can see we all wore either green, yellow or mango colors. Those were the colors of the wedding. It was really fun and summery.

My sister's passing

My dear sister Viviane passed away 8 days ago at my parents house back in Brazil. She had down syndrome and had been sick for a few months. She also had heart and lungs problems. She died of the age 43. She is the oldest at my family and she is my only sister. When I heard the news I immediately called my family and they replied that she had a peaceful death, my parents even had time to hug her and say goodbye. I can't even imagine how hard that was for them. I became very sad and wanted to be there to help, but living so far away it makes so difficult to just jump in a plane and go there. I realized that my baby doesn't have a passport yet and that would take at least a couple of days to get ready. So I decided that I will just wait and come in a few months. My parents are doing well given the circumstances. I'm just so grateful to have the gospel in my life that helps us understand the plan that Heavenly Father has for us. I'm also grateful to have had a wonderful sister that was so pure and loving. I have so many wonderful memories of her and I will always treasure the times I had with her here at my house a couple of months ago. We danced, we played dominoes, I cooked for her and she met her new niece Claire. I will always remember you Vivi. I love you minha querida irma Vivi.

Disneyland Fun!!!

For our big family vacation this year we picked Disneyland! We decide that it would be fun to take my niece there. It was also my first time in Disneyland. I bent to Disneyworld but not Disneyland, I have to say is all the same, except that Disneyworld is a lot bigger and the main castle is a lot prettier. We had a great time! the best part was looking at Leah's face when she saw the princess. She was so happy and could not stop shouting all the princess names, Cinderella! Snow White! she loved the pared and was absolutely exasted by 9:00. We stay until 11:00 p.M. and it was a very long day. The bad part is that Leah will not even remember anything, oh well at least we had fun.

Chicago my kind of town!

I just love Chicago during the summer. Brad's is working in a project down in Chicago so we decide to come and visit the family. We had such a great time. My niece Daphynne is here visiting us from Brazil. She is 15 and she is a lot of fun. This is her first time in the U.S. and I'm glad that she could come and spend the summer with us. She loved Chicago!. We visit the main sites such as Navy Pier, Buchkinghan fountain, Sears Tower, Millennium Park and saw the 4th of July fire works downtown. That was absolutely crazy! Just so you know a couple of people got shot that day. Thankfully nothing happen to us but I have to say it was kind of scary. There were thousand of people at the place trying to find one little spot to see the fire works. When it was over it was like a flood of people trough out the streets of Chicago and we could barely move. However we still had a great time with our cousins and their kids.

We also celebrated Leah's birthday there with our family down in Chicago. Thank you Cibe for preparing everything, Leah was so excited that we sang happy birthday to her again, is like the never ending birthday.

I also have to thank you Gizelle for the great barbecue at you house and for the trip to the zoo.

Well over all Chicago is my kind of town. It has great food, great sites to see, great people and during the summer it has the perfect weather. I'm glad I got to experience Chicago again. So long!

Brad's family reunion!

Brad's grandmother turned 85 years old on July 4th. So a couple of weeks earlier we all gather in South Boston for a family reunion, where we celebrated her birthday plus grandma Hunter's birthday and four other granddaughters birthdayas including Leah's. It was a lot fun to get together with everybody. We also went to Maya's baptism, (she is one of our nieces) in Nor Fork. Her little brother Iam was blessed on Sunday.

Leah I love you so much!!! I can't believe you are already 3 years old. I'm so glad that you are my daughter, because you make me laugh everyday. You are so silly and sweet. One of my favorite things in the whole world is to hear you laugh and sing. You can always brighten my day. Thank you for being you. Love mamae!!

Leah's 3rd Birthday

Leah finally had her birthday party! I made the mistake to tell her about her birthday party about a month ago. She really wanted a Mermaid birthday so for the last month every day when she would wake up the first thing she did was ask if today was her Mermaid party, so I had to say not yet. Now you can imagine the joy that she felt when I finally said today is your mermaid party! She kept running around and screaming! She had so much fun with all her little friends. I put up some little polls in the backyard where the kids could coll off. The parents tough were boiling since we don't have any shade in the afternoons. Well, over all it was a good birthday and Leah is excited to be a year older.

Trip to San Antonio

During the month of April we took a short trip to San Antonio. Brad had a conference there for work but we went there to play and have fun. We visit the River Walk, it is in down town San Antonio. It was so nice, we took the ferry boat and loved to whole ride. During the month of April there are lots of different celebrations happening in San Antonio, we watched some of the parades. Is was great. We also got to see some of Brad's friends.

Claire is our little angel. She already sleeps trough the night, what a relief it is for mamae. She is a sweet little baby that makes dragons sounds. That is why her nickname is dragon baby. She is very alert and loves to be held and talk to us. I love that she has so much hair, it is very different from her sister Leah who was bald by three months old. She has been a great addition to our family!

She is my wild curly hair girl that loves to dance and sing. She likes to hang out with teenage girls and she loves the computer. She also thinks she is the boss of the house, which it might be true. She is also very religious, she loves nursery and reading the scriptures ( of course we read it to her). Her new favorite thing is Hannah Montana plus all the princesses you can think of.
